At SquashLevels, we believe that every player, from amateur to top-ranked professional, should have the opportunity to know their level, understand their global rating, track their progress, set goals, and feel a part of our vibrant squash community in SquashLevels. This is why, as the new season begins, we are introducing “Grow the Game, Get a Level”.
How to Get a SquashLevel
Any player who plays in a competitive match which is connected to SquashLevels will get a level. Currently, we connect to 120 different systems around the world, ranging from box leagues to inter-club leagues, and tournaments. Simply participating in one of these events will result in you getting a level, and a global rating.
If you are playing regularly and competitively but your system is not connected to Squash Levels, please reach out to us and we can work together to get connected.
But what if you’re not playing in competitive matches? How do you then get a level?
New Players: Your SquashLevels Journey Starts Here
If you’re new to squash it can be both exciting and daunting. That’s why we’re here to make it easier and more rewarding. Getting a level on SquashLevels is your first step to becoming part of a global community of players.
Why Get a Level?
A Level automatically gives you a starting point, as well as a global rating, understanding where you are and knowing where you want to go will help you improve your game in a number of ways.
- Motivation to Improve: Just like a runner tracking their 5k times on Strava, having a level gives you a clear goal to aim for.
- Track Your Progress: Try out the SquashSkills testing, input your matches, and track how you’re improving over time.
- Set Goals: Whether it’s improving your level or mastering a new technique, having a level helps you focus your efforts as it becomes a tangible process.
- Community Feeling: Join a network of players who share your passion for squash.
How to Get a Level?
- Find a Player with a Level: Connect with someone in your club who already has a level, please note this must not be a provisional level which is marked with a (P)
- Use the Add Result Functionality: Play a match, record the result as a LEVEL GENERATOR, and submit it on Squash Levels. This will give the new player a starting, provisional level while having no affect on the existing players level.
- Join Box Leagues: As you continue to play squash, consider joining your local club box league to have more competitive matches.
Existing Players: Bringing Players Onboard
If you already are a member of SquashLevels then you will understand the benefits of having a level and having access to the SquashLevels platform. Now you can help others experience the same.
How You Can Help:
- Add Results for New Players: When you play a newcomer then use the add result feature, using LEVEL GENERATOR, to help new players get their first level. This will ensure that new players will receive a provisional level, yet will have a 0% affect on your level.
- Level Generator Matches: Use our new LEVEL GENERATOR match type to play against newcomers without affecting your own level. It’s a win-win!
- Promote Squash Levels: Encourage your club managers and coaches to set up box leagues and make them aware of SquashLevels.
For detailed instructions on how to add in a LEVEL GENERATOR result, check out the video here.
Clubs: Building a Stronger Club Community
If you are a club manager or coach, then integrating Squash Levels into your club’s activities can significantly enhance the experience for your members. It’s simple, effective, and beneficial for everyone involved.
Benefits of Squash Levels for Clubs:
SquashLevels can help you create an engaged community of squash players, helping those who play feel more connected and motivated, as well as offering opportunities for your club coaches to find those looking for coaching.
- Enhanced Community Spirit: Players feel more connected and motivated to their club.
- Engaged Members: Structured play and tracking keep members coming back playing matches to improve on their level.
- Structured Progress Tracking: Understand how a player is improving (or not) and be on hand to offer support via coaching which can be easily monitored via level progression.
How to Get Started with SquashLevels:
- Set Up Box Leagues: Register your club on Squash Levels and use our free, digital boxes to set up box leagues allowing for players to compete against one another and gain a level.
- Run Club Nights: Organise events where players can play against others with a level in LEVEL GENERATOR, without it affecting the existing players level. Use the LEVEL GENERATOR results to create profiles and add new players to Squash Levels within your club community.
- Use Your Club Community: Use your club community on SquashLevels as a digital noticeboard, allowing you to communicate with your members at a time they’re thinking about squash.
For detailed instructions on how to do this, check out the video here.
